Solid Rock Baptist Church

SOLID ROCK BAPTIST CHURCH

Project: Solid Rock Baptist Church of Aurora, Colorado

Facts: The current building was recently purchased and renovations are required. Originally the structure was a bank building. It is a 2-story brick veneer building with a basement and adjacent on-site parking.

Services provided: Owner’s Representative for the church on a Pro-bono basis. Provided recommendations for an Architect and provided a summary presentation outlining the basic process and what to expect along the way. Conducted meetings with the senior pastor and the architect in order to guide the church (pastor & building committee) and present alternate plans of approach to the design and construction process. Of primary importance is to keep the project within the budget and maximize the existing spaces functionally and aesthetically. Additional services are being provided in conjunction with establishing relations with the Aurora Community Development and Neighborhood Development committees. By working with the City of Aurora the church would like to be active in the community and also maximize the use of development programs. Helping to integrate into the local community with a presence of service and by making a positive contribution to the neighborhood are desirable as an overall planned objective of Solid Rock Baptist Church.

Progress Update: A general contractor has been selected and the start date for the renovation is the first of June, 2012.
